Joshua Tree National Park - June 2017

A trip to Palm Springs for a wedding meant a chance to explore one of the most iconic National Parks: Joshua Tree. This park derived its name from Mormon settlers who thought the trees reminded them of Joshua raising his arms to God.

The park straddles the borders of the Sonoran and Mojave deserts and is home to some of the most incredible rock formations and landscapes in the country. It also has an interesting history of mining and livestock grazing. To think that people once lived here almost seems impossible but evidence remains that they did. And before you ask, no, we did not find the tree where U2 photographed their famous album cover. That wasn't even photographed in the park but rather about 40 miles away.
