Ray Ray and I are happy to (publicly) announce we are expecting our first child in July! We’re obviously overjoyed – if not slightly freaking out – and are incredibly grateful for all of the love and support we’ve received so far.
We first learned about this little miracle back in November. She was on a work trip in Europe and I was presenting at a conference in Bermuda. We met up in London for a friend’s wedding where she informed me that, according to her math, something was amiss. A quick test upon our return home confirmed her suspicion.
All of that aside, today is Ray Ray's birthday, which means another installment of the mix tape series. Lots of good new tunes on here, as well as a few tracks to continue her musical education (See: entries from Elvis Presley, Lenny Kravitz and the Rolling Stones). Also, see if you get the closing nod.
By far my favorite track of this installment is “Only the Wild Ones” by Dispatch. It’s a great tune and as I shared publicly on the Facebooks, I believe the refrain neatly sums up what life is like with this remarkable woman: No place to go but everywhere.
Speaking of songs, don’t be surprised if I give songwriting a go during the pregnancy. The working title is, "She's Eating for Two, I'm Drinking for Three." I’ll let you know if I ever actually get around to it. Methinks I'll be just a little busy preparing for the big change.
In the meantime, check out the tunes infiltrating the baby-to-be’s ears right now. As always, you can find this playlist on our Spotify station.
