Love In the Time of COVID

NB: I was itching to use "epidemiology" in this year's anniversary poem for Ray Ray. Therefore, a sonnet.

What were our vows if not a sacred charge,

our acceptance of whatever may be?

Constant anchor through these tests small and large,

even of epidemiology.

The comings, goings, returns, goodbyes;

the packing, the settling every few years.

Faces of loved ones reflect in our eyes

Their fingerprints ours, laughs ring in our ears.

Through all this and more we’ve sworn to the end

our commitment and trust that whatever comes

shall find us ready, the two best of friends,

no challenge allowed to see us undone.

Prevailing with laughter o’er conflict and strife,

adventurous duo, husband and wife.
